Chilean securities and insurance regulator replaced by new Commission for the Financial Market

According to the Law N° 21000 issued on December 13th in the Chilean Official Gazette by the Ministry of Finance, the Superintendency of Securities and Insurance (“Superintendencia de Valores y Seguros “) has been replaced by the new Commission for the Financial Market.

The new commission became operational on December 14th, while the superintendency will cease to exist in January 15th 2018.
